COVID Restrictions Reminder – Colts Home Game Saturday 25th July

With the Colts 1st home game this Saturday 25th September, we’d like to remind all participants, officials and spectators of some of the return to footy COVID restrictions.

Its recommended that only 1 parent per player should attend games. Players should arrive ready to play and leave directly after their match. The games have been structured with a 20 – 30 minute break between matches so the previous team can pack up and leave before the next game commences.

A number of hand sanitation stations will be set up at the field for all participants and spectators to use on arrival and departure.

Please be mindful of the 1.5m Social Distancing requirements at the game.

If you have been to Victoria or one of the listed NSW Health COVID hot spots within the prior 14 days, you should not attend the field for training or competition day and should notify the club as soon as possible. Please remember that our club officials are all volunteers and have been working very hard to ensure all our players return to playing Rugby League in a safe environment.

Updates on Rounds 1- 3

With the first 3 rounds of the season constantly changing, all players are recommended to firstly check on the Central Coast Division of Junior Rugby League Competition at https://www.playrugbyleague.com/Competitions/Region/region-6—newcastle–central-coast-1652 followed by their respective coach or team manager.

Round 2 – 25th July

Final Colts Gear Collection – Wednesday 15th July in the Clubhouse 4:30 – 6pm

Hi Everyone, the Colts will be having their final gear collection in the MacKillop Oval Clubhouse this Wednesday 15th July between 4:30 and 6pm even if the ground is closed for training.

 

Rounds 1 – 3, 2020 Season Kick Off July 18th

Hi Colties, CCDJRL have released Rounds 1-3 with Round 1 kicking off Saturday 18th July. There is a home game for most of the Colts teams in Round 2 on Saturday 25th July.

Coaches and Managers Meeting – Wednesday 8th July @ 6:30pm

We are having our Coaches and Managers meeting next Wednesday 8th July in the Clubhouse at 6:30 pm.

Colts 2nd Gear Collection – Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st July 4:30 – 6:00 pm

We will be having another gear pickup next Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 1st July at the Clubhouse between 4:30 and 6 pm.

This is for those that missed out on playing gear from our first pickup back in March. We are expecting another shipment from our supplier the week before round 1 so if we can’t fit you out next week there will be another pickup before the season kicks off. Socks are the same as last season but if you need a pair they will be available. We will also have hoodies and backpacks on sale for purchase at the gear pickups.

We need to be mindful of the COVID restrictions so we will only be allowing small numbers into the clubhouse at a time.

NSW Community Football is On – 2nd June 2020

The NSWRL is pleased to confirm that community football for children in competitions up to and including under 18 comps will resume in July following the NSW Government’s latest announcement today.

The NSWRL has been working towards a re-start of modified and select competitions from 18 July and a return to full contact training from 1 July, based on the advice of government and health authorities.

NSWRL Chief Executive David Trodden said it was exciting and welcome news for more than 80,000 girls and boys from 700 clubs across the state.

“This is a really positive outcome, not only for the Rugby League community, but the broader community and we are grateful that the NSW Government has given the green light for a return to children’s sport,” Trodden said.

“It is really important though that we all remain vigilant and adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines that have been set so we can all enjoy the return of sport for the long-term.”

Trodden said that training (in groups of up to 10) can begin as soon as clubs have complied with the NSWRL’s COVID-19 regulations that have been developed in line with the Australian Government’s “Return to Sport” framework.

There has been no decision on adults returning to play, which means the senior NSWRL competitions – Harvey Norman Women’s Premiership and Ron Massey Cup and Sydney Shield – along with senior community football competitions, scheduled to re-start 18 July 2020, are still on hold, pending further advice.

“We remain hopeful that the NSW Government will also approve a return to play for adult teams in the very near future, recognising the central role that sport plays in our community and the positive impact that sport can have in recovery from the coronavirus pandemic,” Trodden said.
